The excitation of children is one of the first major decisions that young parents have to make. It is important that your position on vaccines is clear and clear before delivery. The first vaccination of newborns in our medical system is usually carried out in a maternity hospital (hepatitis B vaccine, BCG vaccine against tuberculosis). And, of course, it is necessary that this position be the result of a common decision of the parents. That is why it is so important to understand the mechanism of vaccination offered to our society today.

This chapter is not intended to impose any point of view on child vaccination on parents. We only propose, based on the recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO), world research in the field of pediatrics, as well as many years of experience of practicing neonatologists and pediatricians, to consider how and against what vaccinations work, and help make a decision that will be right for you.

In Russia, children are vaccinated according to the national immunization schedule approved by the Ministry of Health. Let’s look at the definition of this document on one of the Internet resources: “The national vaccination calendar is a system for the most rational use of vaccines, ensuring the development of intense immunity at the earliest (vulnerable) age as soon as possible.” Already in the very formulation of the definition, unnatural processes are laid down: why develop a forced intense immunity, even at the most vulnerable age? Let’s try to figure out why exactly and with what vaccines it is shown to vaccinate newborn children in our country. Let’s start with the common side effects of all vaccines.


Allergy

Any vaccine is a highly complex chemical and biological system, the exact composition of which is not known even by the manufacturers themselves. Some components of vaccines: remains of cells of animal organs (for example, kidneys of hamsters and monkeys), cells of aborted human fetuses (used in the cultivation of vaccines against rubella, chickenpox and hepatitis A), cells of transplanted cancer lines, transgenic yeast cells, chicken protein (as well as all foreign proteins, the strongest allergen), blood serum of dogs, monkeys, sheep, pigs, cows (hence the word “vaccine” from Latin “vacca” – “cow”), hydrolyzed gelatin, potent antibiotics (amphotericin B, neomycin), squalene (a carcinogen from shark oil). Many synthetic chemicals are added to vaccines as inactivators, disinfectants, preservatives, sorbents, and adjuvants, including: formaldehyde (a neurotoxic and carcinogenic poison that is only suitable for embalming corpses), phenol (or carbolic acid, which is used in hospitals to treat toilet bowls and doorknobs), leaded mercury (or merthiolate, a supertoxicant of the highest hazard class, which includes chemical warfare agents and agricultural pesticides), 6-phenoxyethanol (antifreeze, the strongest cell poison), aluminum hydroxide or phosphate (sharply increasing the toxic effect of mercury), cooling lubricant emulsion, synthetic dyes, detergents (Tween-80, etc.), organic solvents, borax (which used to poison cockroaches), glycerol, sulfite and phosphate buffer components, polysorbate 80/20, β-propiolactone, etc. In addition, vaccines are always contaminated with foreign microorganisms. They contained: monkey crustacean virus SV-40,

Post-vaccination infection

If the vaccinated at the time of the injection for some reason has weakened immunity, and the vaccine being administered is live, the disease itself may occur.

Autoimmune reaction

Violation of the defense mechanisms in the human body, leading to the production of antibodies (autoantibodies) against its own cells and tissues, which consider these cells and tissues as foreign and attack them. Causes autoimmune diseases.

Toxic components

The most dangerous among them are mercury and aluminum. Mercury in the form of an organic salt (thimerosal, thiomersal, merthiolate) plays the role of a preservative. Aluminum in the form of phosphate or hydroxide promotes the production of antibodies. The high toxicity of these substances has been known for over 100 years. Their neurotoxicity is especially alarming – they can affect the nervous system.

Development of autism

American researcher and professor D. Miller writes: “In 1950, when the US national immunization schedule contained only 4 vaccinations, only one child in 10,000 developed autism. As new vaccines became available, increasing doses of mercury began to be administered to children. Those born in 1981 received 135 mcg of mercury, and there was already one case of autism in 2600 children. In 1996, children received an average of 246 μg of mercury with vaccines. Autism is now reported in one in every 350 children. ” It is significant that boys in such cases suffer 4 times more often, since the male sex hormone testosterone increases the neurotoxicity of mercury, and the female sex hormone estrogen reduces it. How much mercury and aluminum with vaccines do our children get? Each dose of hepatitis B vaccine contains about 12.4 mcg of mercury, and in each dose of DTP vaccine – about 25 mcg. This means that during the first six months of life, a child with three doses of each of these vaccines will receive a total of about 112 μg of mercury. This is despite the fact that the Research Council of the National Academy of Sciences of the USA set the maximum permissible concentration of mercury at 0.1 μg per 1 kg of body weight.

These are possible reactions of the human body, especially a vulnerable child’s body, to vaccination. However, the most dangerous consequence, perhaps, lies in the fact that in our country there is practically no statistics of post-vaccination complications . Because in case of detection of post-vaccination complications, it is necessary to notify Rospotrebnadzor, check a specific batch of vaccine, if it is confirmed to be of poor quality, remove it from circulation, find children who have also been vaccinated with this vaccine, and establish whether they have such complications. Of course, this is an extra “headache” and responsibility of people in important leadership positions, which these people do not need at all.

Now let’s take a closer look at the diseases themselves, against which children are vaccinated in Russia, and the vaccines with which they are vaccinated.

Hepatitis B

It is a viral infection transmitted through contact with the blood or other body fluids of an infected person. May cause severe liver damage in both acute and chronic liver disease.

According to the information on the russified WHO website, the hepatitis B vaccine has been available since 1982. Its effectiveness in preventing infection and the development of chronic disease, as well as liver cancer due to hepatitis B, is 95%. However, let’s see where hepatitis B is widespread, who is at risk of infection, and whether it is worth vaccinating all children in Russia (about 1.7-2 million babies a year) against this disease.

The highest prevalence of hepatitis B is observed in the poor, disadvantaged third world countries – where there is unsanitary conditions, a large lack of food, poverty, and a criminal environment (drug trafficking). This list includes countries in Africa (sub-Saharan Africa) and countries in East Asia, in which up to 10% of the adult population is chronically infected. In Europe and North America, less than 1% of people are infected. Thus, the world practice of vaccination against hepatitis B is built exclusively on indicators from poor and disadvantaged areas of the world, which are 10 times higher than the infection rates in more developed countries.

How can a newborn, living in an ordinary Russian family (where hygiene is observed, adhere to a healthy diet, live in a separate apartment), be at risk of contracting hepatitis B? Infection of a newborn is possible only during childbirth (through blood), if the mother is sickhepatitis B! Children are not exposed to any other risk of getting sick. During pregnancy, a woman donates blood several times for hepatitis B. Thus, the children of a healthy woman are not at risk of this disease. Moreover, not all children born to infected women can be infected with the hepatitis B virus. According to statistics, in the presence of a positive hbs antigen in a woman’s blood, only 10% of cases are transmitted from mother to child. Thus, the question arises: why not introduce the practice of taking tests for hepatitis B after childbirth, in order to know for sure whether a woman is infected? And in that negligible percentage of cases where the mother really gets infected, then vaccinate the child. But do not administer the vaccine to all babies a few hours after birth.

In addition, according to medical practice, if an infected woman gives birth to a child, the baby is vaccinated according to an accelerated scheme. The vaccine is administered 3 times (scheme “1-10-21”) – immediately after birth, on the 10th and 21st days (or 3 vaccinations before the age of 2 months). This scheme differs significantly from the standard scheme (3 vaccinations: 12 hours after birth, at 1 month and at 6 months). Thus, in accelerated vaccination, all 3 injections occur in a significantly shorter period than in the standard vaccination schedule. That is, with the standard vaccination scheme, in case of infection with hepatitis B, the child may be unprotected, which indicates its ineffectiveness. Does your child need this vaccination?

Who else, according to WHO, is at risk of contracting hepatitis B virus, with the exception of newborns, if the mother is infected?

  • people who often require blood and blood products, dialysis patients, recipients of whole organ transplants;
  • inmates in prisons;
  • injecting drug users;
  • family members and sexual partners of people with chronic hepatitis B infection;
  • people with multiple sexual partners;
  • health care workers and others who may be exposed to blood and blood products at work;
  • travelers who have not completed the hepatitis B vaccination series who should be given the vaccine prior to travel to endemic areas.

The probability of a newborn entering one of these groups is highly doubtful. Rather, it is the mother who needs to lead a healthy lifestyle in order to avoid being at risk of infection.

BCG (tuberculosis)

Tuberculosis is a bacterial infection transmitted by airborne droplets and airborne dust. Airborne (aerosol) infection occurs mainly only with close contact with the patient. However, infected aerosol particles are most often retained in the upper respiratory tract and excreted from the body without infecting the recipient. Tuberculosis is an exclusively pulmonary disease, that is, it can develop only in the lungs, where bacteria (Koch’s bacillus) get to it is not so easy.

The main percentage of tuberculosis infection is due to airborne dust transmission. This means that aerosol microparticles (emanating from the patient), falling, for example, on the ground, dry out and, together with the dust, rise into the air. Inhaling this dust, a healthy person can become infected with tuberculosis, since it is much easier for small particles to enter the lungs. That is why tuberculosis is so widespread, for example, in prisons. If one patient appears, other prisoners, constantly staying in the same place with him, inhale bacteria with dust in the air. Unsanitary conditions and poor nutrition in such places contribute to the development and progression of the disease.

In cases where the ring of phagocytes fails to limit the focus, the infection spreads. However, the development of the disease occurs not due to the fact that foreign bacteria damage the lungs, but because the very factor is released that destroys all types of bacteria – both foreign and our own. In the absence of restriction of this process by a dense ring of transformed phagocytes, the lung tissue itself begins to be destroyed from the released factor. That is, the immune system itself begins a destructive process. It also leads to those sad consequences that all parents fear. Thus, we see that the antibodies given with the vaccine are not involved in this whole process.

The saddest statistics have been accumulated in the days when antibiotics did not exist and the development of the disease could not be stopped. Today, in the presence of antibiotics and, most importantly, timely detection of tuberculosis (even in those rare cases when the body itself cannot cope with the infection and begins to self-destruct), we can be cured. And the consequences of antibiotics (given the low probability of the disease) are much less than the possible consequences of post-vaccination complications (when a strain of infection is administered even to the majority of children who would never have encountered this infection in their lives). Having dealt with the mechanism of development of tuberculosis, we can conclude that vaccination against tuberculosis (simple administration of antibodies) is ineffective when bacteria enter the body. Only our own strong immunity can cope with tuberculosis.

Why, nowadays, when a large number of antibiotics have been invented and medicine has stepped far forward, it is customary for all people from birth to inject the BCG (anti-tuberculosis) vaccine, if these antibodies are not able to destroy the tuberculosis bacterium itself? The fact is that BCG was invented in 1921, and the Nobel Prizes in Immunology for the discovery of the mechanism of action of antibodies (that is, the very mechanism of vaccination) were awarded only in the 70s and 80s of the twentieth century. That is, until this moment, when the BCG vaccine was introduced, no one even had a clue that it could not destroy tuberculosis microbacteria. As a result, many countries have gradually phased out these vaccines. Today, in Europe, the United States, Israel and many other countries, BCG vaccination of newborns is not carried out, although tuberculosis bacteria are common in these countries. Moreover, after

With regard to the WHO position on BCG vaccination, we can read the following on the official website: “The only existing vaccine against tuberculosis (TB), Bacillus Calmette-Guerin (BCG), created in 1921, has an unstable protective efficacy. WHO recommends vaccinating HIV-uninfected children with BCG, as it provides protection against severe extrapulmonary TB in children (1). However, BCG does not provide reliable protection against pulmonary TB , which accounts for the bulk of the disease worldwide. ” Thus, even the WHO directly states that BCG does not protect against pulmonary tuberculosis, the forms of which constitute the main disease.

What is extrapulmonary tuberculosis that BCG vaccine supposedly protects against? As we have already said, tuberculosis is exclusively an intrapulmonary infection. Extrapulmonary forms of the disease are always secondarytuberculosis. Where does it come from? The fact is that when vaccinated, a child is injected with a weakened strain of a living tuberculosis bacterium. The strain is introduced by an unnatural route of infection – not through the respiratory tract, but through the blood – and spreads through the blood throughout the body. Live tuberculosis bacteria can settle in any part of the body and form a primary focus. This focus, falling apart, spreads and causes secondary extrapulmonary tuberculosis, for example, tuberculosis of the central nervous system and meninges, organs of the digestive system, bones and joints, etc. milk of an infected cow) post-vaccination complication with weakened immunity. That is, the absurdity of the situation is

Mantoux test– “diagnosis” of tuberculosis, when tuberculin (extract from tuberculosis bacteria) is injected under the skin. Since as a result of BCG vaccination, the so-called “sentinel cells” are formed in the lymph nodes, an allergic reaction is formed at the injection site of tuberculin within several days. If the reaction reaches no more than 10 mm in size, it is considered that there are sentry cells and the child is protected. However, if the Mantoux reaction is more than 10 mm, it is suspected that such an excessive allergic reaction may indicate the presence of pulmonary tuberculosis. In this case, repeated administration of tuberculin is performed. If there is a repeated overreaction, the child is sent for x-rays. If a disease can be detected with the help of an X-ray, treatment begins. If X-rays do not show signs of pulmonary tuberculosis, then, most often, a course of treatment is still prescribed, since the initial contact with tuberculosis may not always be identified using an X-ray. But whether there really was tuberculosis there can never be certain. An excessive allergic reaction can be caused by both tuberculin and the preservative that Mantoux contains.

In addition, the child may be allergic, and any foreign substance can cause an excessive reaction in his body. Thus, the reliability of the information revealed due to the Mantoux reaction is only 50%. That is, with an increased size of the reaction, doctors cannot confidently talk about the presence of tuberculosis in a child, and with a “normal” Mantoux reaction, about its absence.

What, in this case, are the alternatives to the Mantoux reaction for early diagnosis of tuberculosis?

  • Diaskintest is an intradermal injection of a small amount of a special solution that contains proteins that are characteristic only of tuberculosis pathogens. Compared to Mantoux, its reliability is much higher and is equal to 97%.

If you do not want to give your child any injections (to avoid side effects, manifestations of allergies), there are two following tests carried out by drawing blood from a vein:

  • quantiferon test,
  • T-SPOT.TB.

The reliability and objectivity of these tests are almost 100%. Why do these tests need to be done? Firstly, if necessary (the presence of the likelihood of contracting tuberculosis), they carry information to parents. Secondly, today, when refusing the Mantoux test conducted in children’s educational institutions (nurseries, kindergartens, schools), they usually require a certificate from a phthisiatrician (a specialist in the diagnosis and treatment of tuberculosis) that the child has no disease. Although the legality and legality of such a requirement is in serious doubt, in practice your child may be suspended from school for a certain period. Therefore, it makes sense to bring the results of one of the above tests to the phthisiatrician in order to receive a certificate from him that your child has no tuberculosis. Based on this certificate, the child continues to attend classes. In the case when tuberculosis microbacteria are found in the child’s body in a latent state, it makes sense to repeat these tests with the same frequency as the Mantoux test is performed.

Polio

A viral infection transmitted from person to person by the fecal-oral route. Transmission is possible through any common carrier of infection (for example, contaminated water or food). It multiplies in the intestines. In the vast majority of cases, poliomyelitis occurs as an intestinal infection. That is, you can get polio and never know about it. However, according to statistics cited by WHO, in one in 200 cases of infection, irreversible paralysis (most often of the legs) can occur. This happens as a result of the poliovirus migrating into the nerve stems. Then the immune system begins to destroy its own cells infected with the virus. 5-10% of these paralyzed people die due to the onset of paralysis of the respiratory muscles. Affects the nervous system. Mostly children under 5 years of age are at risk of infection.

There are 3 countries at risk that have never stopped polio transmission: Afghanistan, Nigeria and Pakistan. Accordingly, the risk of infection is also quite high in neighboring countries, where sanitary conditions and living standards are low. Therefore, if you are planning a trip with a small child to a region of high endemicity, keep in mind that there is a risk of contracting polio. In Russia, as in the case of hepatitis B, the living conditions of the population are different.

There is no cure for polio. In case of infection, paralysis will either come or not. However, as far as vaccination is concerned, it has been established that among the sick a large percentage of those people who have completed the full course of vaccination. The fact is that wild poliovirus can be very different from the vaccine strain. Thus, the effectiveness of vaccination against polio is rather average; even being vaccinated, you can get sick.

In Russia, vaccination against poliomyelitis is carried out according to the following scheme: the first two times the killed vaccine is administered, the next three times – the live one. With the introduction of a live vaccine, as we said earlier, there is a risk of getting the disease from which they are vaccinated, in this case, polio. In the United States, an exclusively dead vaccine is administered. WHO recommends vaccinating only with a live vaccine. Why? Because both killed and live vaccines protect against paralytic forms. However, with the introduction of a dead vaccine, although the vaccinated himself does not risk getting polio, he becomes a carrier of it, since the virus is released into the external environment. When a live vaccine is introduced, the virus is not released into the external environment, and the person being vaccinated, according to WHO, is considered to be protected to some extent (although not always).

In recent years, Russia has used the practice of removing unvaccinated children from kindergarten for a period of up to 90 days if they are vaccinated against polio with a live vaccine. This is because a child vaccinated with a live vaccine can excrete a polio strain in the feces. However, in reality, the probability of infection not even with a wild virus (which infects 1 in 200 people), but with a multiply diluted vaccine strain is practically zero. In the practice of many pediatricians, there are no such cases of infection. Thus, if you decide not to vaccinate your baby against polio, you can write a letter of refusal and continue his studies in kindergarten.

DPT (whooping cough, diphtheria, tetanus)

Whooping cough

Whooping cough is a contagious bacterial disease of the respiratory tract. It is transmitted by airborne droplets. The first symptoms usually appear 7-10 days after infection and include mild fever, runny nose, and cough, which typically gradually develops into a paroxysmal, convulsive cough. Many babies who contract whooping cough have coughing fits for 4–8 weeks. The most dangerous for children under one year old (due to the small volume of the lungs) and the elderly (due to age-related weakening of the respiratory system). In some cases, pneumonia may develop with late diagnosis. It passes either on its own, or (in case of an increase in temperature) requires the appointment of antibiotics in order to prevent complications of pneumonia.

The effectiveness of the whooping cough vaccine is questionable. The chance of not getting sick in a vaccinated child is about 50%. Despite the pertussis vaccination adopted in our country, this disease is very common. According to pediatric practice, severe forms of pertussis occur in both vaccinated and unvaccinated children. Equally, mild forms of pertussis occur in both cases. Whooping cough after vaccination is difficult to diagnose, since the child’s blood will contain immunoglobulins G. It is difficult to establish the cause of these immunoglobulins (infection or vaccination). Sowing from the throat is usually not very informative if taken after the development of an infection (since antibiotics are usually prescribed by this time). In this way, cases of pertussis development in vaccinated children usually remain out of statistical processing, and we do not have reliable information about how much the vaccine actually protects against the development of the disease. At the same time, the pertussis component is the most toxic component of the triple DPT vaccine.

Diphtheria

Diphtheria– a bacterial infection transmitted through direct physical contact or aerosol transmission during the breathing, coughing or sneezing of infected persons. It is very rare, but spreads by epidemic outbreaks. Diphtheria is realized exactly in the place where it got when a person inhaled bacteria (throat and upper respiratory tract). On the affected areas, a very dense coating of a dirty gray color forms, which is extremely difficult to remove (accumulation of membranes of dead tissue). It also produces a toxin that can damage other organs (blood vessels, heart, etc.). In severe cases, the toxin can lead to serious complications. The main danger is presented by hypertoxic forms, when the infected person immediately has a very high temperature and a serious general condition (in some cases, a lethal outcome is possible).

Thus, in the case of diphtheria, it is possible both to recover from this disease without symptoms and further development of the infection (in most cases without even knowing about it), and to get, in extremely rare cases, a severe toxic form of the disease (extremely rare). Therefore, if a plaque appears in the throat (or tonsils) or complaints of pain when swallowing, a child or an adult should immediately visit a doctor to start treatment as early as possible (regardless of whether he is vaccinated or not). The diphtheria toxin is fairly stable (unlike poliovirus), so on the one hand, vaccination can provide immunity. On the other hand, vaccination against diphtheria (usually as part of DPT) cannot prevent the development of an epidemic, since the antibodies injected block the toxin, but not the bacterium itself. The bacterium continues to multiply, causing the circulation of infection in the external environment. And in the moments of an epidemic, both unvaccinated and vaccinated children and adults can get sick.

Tetanus
